VisionAbout.html

Our family returned to the United States 2004 after living in Uganda, Africa for three years in a Sudanese refugee camp.  After a peace agreement was signed with North Sudan, our people were loaded like cattle into trucks and dumped in Pajok, Sudan.  Unfortunately, the conditions for our people grew worse, not better.   In fact, all the funding they received while in Uganda was cut because they were no longer refugees. They had been abandoned.

My brother Jeff Horner, a nurse, and I went to Pajok to see the condition of the people and see how we could help. The land was barren. Their country had been devastated by war and everything in their village had been destroyed including the churches, homes, wells, schools and medical clinics. The people were hungry and sick. David Ogwang, our director, had told us they recently had an outbreak of cholera in their area that killed hundreds of people.  This was caused by the fact that there is only one well with clean drinking water for over 15,000 people.

We have been supporting our orphans and a Sudanese medical student named Kennedy for the last 6 years with a vision to help our friends in Pajok.  Medical services are unavailable and people are dying everyday...especially children.  Kennedy was a close friend while we lived in Kiryandongo (the refugee camp) and was part of our ministry.  He is due to graduate in May of 2011.  We have one more semester to help him get through before he can return to help his people. Lisa is also scheduled to graduate with her nursing degree in May 2011.  We are stepping out in faith and asking God to do great things.

In November of 2010, I resigned from my job as a family pastor to be a full-time mission’s advocate for Hiskids and speak in churches about the need for biblical repentance. We have no support at this point, so we cannot afford to pay for Kennedy’s expenses for this last semester.

We are asking people who believe in this effort to help get Kennedy through school.  This will be the last opportunity we have to invest in the education of a man who will save hundreds if not thousands of lives. We need to raise $3000 by January 25th, 2011 to keep Kennedy in school.

If you would like to make online donation, hit the donate button at the top. 100% of every dollar that you donate goes directly to help Kennedy through school.  No administrative cost are taken out.

Help Kennedy help others,

Joe Horner.
